 Your first consultation will last up to 1 hour during which a full case history will be taken. Both your current and any previous illness will be discussed alongside your family medical history and any current orthodox medications you may be taking.
Blood pressure, physical examination and urine samples may be performed at your permission. In addition referral for blood tests or x-rays may be advised. At the end of your consultation your prescription will be formulated and a treatment plan discussed. Treatment centres on the patient as well as the disease. Factors such as diet, lifestyle and emotional wellbeing are considered alongside the physical symptoms. A follow up visit will be arranged for 2-4 weeks later when you progress will be assessed and your prescription altered if necessary. It is usual to have between 3-5 consultations with your herbalist which may be followed by a check up some months later depending on the nature of your condition. |
